Late payment on credit score

Hi everyone first time post here after just being onto my CC company (RBS) about a late payment that has caused a negative effect to my credit rating and could possibly hinder my ability to re finance.
I did hold my hands up, it was a error on my part the DD was set up after the first statement, which was later explained that I should have made a manual payment.
As this was the case the adviser told me it was illegal for them to remove the late payment from my file as they had a obligation to give a "true" reflection on my credit score which I could understand if I missed a mortgage payment or car finance, bills or taxes. The fact that the late payment slur on my credit report was for £11.50, this in my opinion does not give a true relection
I explained to the adviser that this could have a serious impact on my financial future for the sake of a small amount or misdemeanor but was again told they could do nothing.
I find it hard to believe that a computer can automatically can put me into financial hardship with no recourse. My question is, is there anything else I can do about this.
Thanks in advance :T

You could try one more time and grovel - but they are entitled to stand their ground.
On the plus side, a single late payment won't have a 'serious impact on your financial future.'0 -

A blatant bare-faced lie. They can remove such markers from the CRA files if they want; legality doesn't come into it. Ask them again.0 -
Assuming that this is an isolated incident, all future payments are made on time and a satisfactory payment history is established on the account, a late payment of £11.50 in the very first month of a new credit card account is not likely to have a significant impact.
Yes it does give a true reflection. It reflects the fact that you couldn't be bothered to pay your first credit card statement on time and didn't bother to set up a direct debit.0 -
Wow people are harsh.
I got a late payment removed from my credit file/report. I paid off the outstanding debt and I did cry down the phone and begged by hey it worked.0
