DVD Camcorders record directly onto DVDs.
The MiniDV format used in modern DV Camcorders stores the recordings digitally onto compact cassettes.
Can't tell you which is best though as I've used neither.
Maybe take a trip to your local Jessops?Dave. :wave:0 -
The DV cassette tape stores with less compression so that will be of a higher quality. If you want to just film onto DVD disc with no frills or are not really very technically minded then a dvd camcorder is probably better for you. If on the other hand you want to do things like editing your home movies as well as adding menus and chapters then get the dv tape version.0
