Just like Fosterdog I get a letter every year and that confirms the £750 requirement.

What did OP do when he had to quote insurance details on his holiday booking form ?

People do need to take responsibility for these things themselves.

I'm the first one to agree with personal responsibility.

In that lower-paid interlude I haven't actually had any foreign holidays. I've just had two holidays in Britain - hence our automatic assumption of "the NHS will deal with anything" that we have when we are in this country applied. But - obviously there was the consciousness that I might have needed to claim for stolen luggage or something.

BTW - I'm female (not that that is relevant to this matter obviously:rotfl:).

NB; I may possibly not recall a standard type letter of the automatically issued to everyone type. I would definitely recall a personal letter to me saying "We regret you haven't got this any more because of......." nature - as I would have felt a bit shocked about that and then made a note to myself that I would need to arrange holiday insurance cover for myself if I had any holidays during that temporary lower-paid interlude. There definitely was no PERSONAL letter to me of any description in that time.

Re Sooler's comment - I can only think that either they did send me a PERSONAL letter about it and that was lost by the Post Office on the one hand. On the other hand - maybe they have a new policy to send a personal letter to people if cover ceases and that policy has been implemented at some point over the last 3 years. However - I got missed off the list for being told about it - ie because my cover had already ceased as far as they were concerned??

If they have now got a policy that they will indeed tell people - then this is something that presumably wont apply to people in the future and its just something that needs to be noted by that group of existing customers who went into this position a while back (ie when no such policy existed).

Been said many times, but do you not have any savings that you can transfer in to reach £750.pm, you can of course transfer it straight out.

It wasn't necessary to say it in the first place, and certainly not to repeat it, as the OP is clear that the amount going into the account is now over £750 per month again and the insurance has been offered.
