I don't really know if this is really the appropriate section but Maybe it's me venting or I have been done wrong in some ways as item has never been dispatched as such its just the length of time that bothers me

On the morning of Black Friday I made a purchase from curry's online, for a camcorder that was quite cheap ( £80 ).
The money was taken that night and I further received an email saying that due to unforeseen circumstances there may be a delay on delivery . The assumption I made was due to black Friday they would have been very busy so thought no more of it till mid last week

I went to the store to collect last week and nothing was there, I then read thread on a popular deal site that some users had starting receiving dispatch emails mid last week but one person had theirs canceled due to stock levels

Having had some spare time this afternoon I phoned and was indeed told my Order will be cancelled as there are no plans to get stock in , The problem I now have is that why essentially wait for me to contact them and I have actually missed a few decent deals over the black Friday weekend and cyber weeks I would have purchased ? Luckily Order hasn't been cancelled yet as asked the phone operator to keep it open in the feint hope. He offered me to the opportunity to look for camcorders within 30 - 40 pounds and they will put them through unfortunately nothing on the site meets the criteria though

Apologies for writing so much . I could have put it more simple no doubt just slightly peeved.

Did you yourself receive a dispatch email? If not then it's very good on Currys part to let you choose another one as I believe they say their contract is only formed on dispatch of the goods.

No I did not hence why I know this will probably lead to nothing as stated. ( it was only the processing email I received after the confirmation )

Its all and well for them to give me £40 more than above but nothing on there website fits that price range so its essentially a empty gesture. I however appreciate it

Even if they told me on the Monday after that they would not fulfill the order I could have purchased an alternative much albeit more slightly more expensive on the cyber Monday . Why wait for me to enquire to tell me that i would no longer be receiving the item. If they updated the website in due course so it wasn't available for home delivery I could have tried various stores that weekend also

As said I'm probably venting but hindsight in a beautiful thing , If they actually kept me informed I would be in a better position

Why not get back to them and ask if they could supply you with the model you would of purchased if they had of kept you informed on cyber Monday?

Worst they can say is no.
