I also did Natwest Select account and all online but the difference I found compared to RBS was that Natwest sent out documents in post that needed signing and returning before account was officially opened and debit card sent so ended up taking couple of weeks more than RBS to be in a position to switch away. (In both cases I was a new customer.)0 -
I already have my current account with Nationwide (flexaccount),,i was thinking of opening another flexaccount and using that as a sacrificial account to transfer. Unfortunately i wouldnt have any DDs to go with it., Can anyone suggest how i can best maximise that switch and who to? Im currently thinking M&S current with linked reg saver..tnxFeudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

Natwest/RBS (same), surprisingly i've never had any issues with Barclays either and account opened instantly online (you have to pass a credit check where you answer some credit history questions)0

You could open the second FlexAccount via Topcashback website and get approx £75 cashback depending on membership level and then switch away when the cashback is paid. (Only thing is it takes about 15 weeks for cashback to be paid according to the stats.) First Direct doesn't require any DDs either and will also give you access to reg saver and switching bonus. Could also open another account outside of Nationwide and switch that into the FlexAccount you intend to keep via their Recommend A Friend offer where you split £200 with the 'recommender' though do need two DDs for this (though easy to set up short term ones if not got any spare at present).0 -

Yep that's what I've done so now have 2 Flexaccounts (no Flexdirect for me at present as already had the 12 month 5% interest).....just waiting for the cashback to pay out though combined it with the Recommend A Friend which I've now got the £100 for. By the way if you have a friend or family member who has First Direct then they will also get £50 if you switch your sacrificial account to First Direct.0 -
Just reviewed the NW conditions which seem to suggest you only get cashback if you open account and switch in a non NW account..

Anyone know if NW actually enforce this condition? I see TCB currently offer £38.50 for FlexDirect; it would be good if I didn't have to sacrifice another current a/c.0
