Illegible PCN private firm

Hi,

I got a PCN from UKCPS which i cannot read and i wonder whether it is enforceable or if i can at least challenge it beyond the appeal process from the company which i tried to do but never got any responses from the company until well after the appeal time had ended. if anyone can give me advice i would appreciate it.

NOTE: it has escalated to receiving a letter from a solicitor

What was the contravention? UKCPS do court occasionally but seem to 'specialise' in disabled bay offences.

As they are in the IPC appeals are pretty fruitless regardless of how cast iron your appeal is, but it sounds like you're way beyond that if you're getting a solicitor's letter.

Which solicitor? I can never remember which dodgy solicitor acts for which dodgy PPC.

the solicitor is "the miah solicitors"

and it was for leaving the car park

Go to pepipoo.com and have a search for Miah Solicitors.

Does their letter mention a £150 Legal Fee charge? If so, and you can draft a letter (there are some examples on the pepipoo site) robustly questioning this charge and asking for a breakdown it may be enough to scare them off. They clearly haven't incurred this charge at all (they've sent you a template letter, it didn't cost £150 to print it and post it) and they may be reluctant to get involved in explaining where it came from to either a judge or the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

You say it's illegible but nonetheless you've identified who it's from and what the "contravention" was, so we don't really know in what sense it's "illegible".

Check the requirements in sections 7, 8 or 9 here, depending on whether it's a windscreen ticket or came in the post. If anything mandated there is missing or illegible then they have failed to meet the conditions for keeper liability, so you can write to them as the vehicle keeper pointing this out and inviting them to FRO.

who its from is printed on the notice and what its for was sent to me when they sent registered keeper letter didn't know until then. when i made a photocopy to send with the letter of appeal i wrote the photocopy comes up blank
