Amazon Pass my Parcel - parcel stolen?

Hi everyone,
Just after some advice really, I ordered a fit bit zip to be delivered to a nearby pass the parcel location. When I went to collect it I was unable to, the lady in the shop at first didn't understand what I was talking about and then when I showed her the email said I would need to speak to the boss and to come back another day. When I got home I read the t&cs and as it was awkward to return decided to order a replacement to be delivered to my house and leave the other to be returned and refunded...
Anyway it's nearly a month later so I emailed Customer Services only to get back a very oddly worded email that seems to say I collected the parcel on December the 2nd. Not only did I not do that but it should have been safely returned to Amazon long before that. Obviously I shall be talking to Amazon as soon as I can, but I feel quite stressed now as I can't afford to lose money and I hate the thought I've been stolen from. Has anyone else had this problem? And how does it happen anyway when you're supposed to provide ID to collect?
Any help appreciated!

not sure about "pass my parcel" , but on the older system , you had to give the shop keeper a code that you received by email , without which they could not scan it to say it had been collected. is this not the case with pass my parcel?

To collect your parcel, you'll need to provide your pickup code. Pass My Parcel can't release your parcel unless you provide the correct pickup code. If you no longer have your pickup code and have deleted notification e-mail, please contact us.Save a Rachael

Hi, thanks for replying, yes I was given a code which I showed the lady when I tried to collect the parcel, but she wouldnt/couldn't pass it to me... After that I didn't go back so honesty was thinking maybe one of the shop workers took it...
Anyway have just spent half an hour on chat and have been giiven a refund even though the CSR clearly did not really understand the issue and kept saying it must have been lost in the post or mis-delivered???
Honestly am quite disappointed with Amazon at the moment, between that and three parcels being delivered and recorded as "Handed to resident" when they have not been but have been left on my front doorstep on a main road in plain sight when I have a safe place recorded I have had enough... Or I would have had if I hadn't paid for a year of Prime last month. Wish I hadn't now so I could vote with my feet!0 -
Regardless of past issues, they've given you a full refund for an order you admit you just 'left'
You didn't cancel or inform them of a return, or attempt to take any control, they've refunded you and you're still annoyed?0 -
I checked the T&Cs and that it was okay to just leave it. In fact there was no option to inform Amazon that you were no longer able to collect.
Am not annoyed but as I said an disappointedabout a decline in service and that someone else may have the same issue with a pass my parcel order and not be as persistent as me so lose their money. Also the problems I mentioned after were since that order was placed not previously and were just musings really.0 -
I am not very happy with Amazon at the moment either.
Customer services are usually very good but I spent over half an hour on live chat today about an order made on 25th Nov.and not received.(I also contacted them last week about it as well)
I got the feeling it was being typed from a script and something that should have taken a few minutes to sort out was dragged out needlessly.
Ended up cancelling the order as I got so fed up.
I have had parcels left on the doorstep as well but say handed to resident on my account. I wonder what would happen if they had been stolen.0 -
Thank-you, sorry you had problems but glad I'm not alone! I felt the same with the online chat too, it went on for ages and did not seem to directly address my problem, was very odd. I did wonder if it was being copied and lasted from a script too! Honestly with the deliveries I'd feel more confident if they were listed as being dumped on front doorstep rather than fibbed about!0

Lets have a bit of a reality check. To be fair to Amazon (or rather the people working there) they are currently at their busiest at the moment with the likes of Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Christmas orders and they do say that quite clearly that online chats will take some time, particularly as they probably have loads of new staff on working long hours for very little. Give them a chance.0

I don't get it, why didn't you go back to the original location to see the boos the next day? It would have taken much longer to order a replacement when you may not have had too.
You just left the original item in the nearby location so you most likely caused your own problems here.0
