I would just like to add that on Cheap Energy Club we don't default to compare based on Ofgem's personal projection.
No, unless it's changed in the last week, it still defaults to the Ofgem figure. Your link even points out that 'those on fixes can toggle to see savings against your fix's current price'.

Mine showed me amazing savings based on my supplier's fix (<1 month) plus their standard rate (>11 months) compared to new fixed rates (for 12 months).

I knew the savings figures were baloney but it is (now) easier to use than most of the competition, the 'toggle' is a perfectly acceptable solution; but it isn't the default.

    Hi Biggles

In the final few weeks of your tariff, we default you to show you what you'll be paying on your suppliers standard tariff. This is the period where you can switch penalty free (if you've exit fees)

But before this we always show you the costs and savings against your current fix, ignoring Ofgem's ruling.

The only time we ever default to Ofgem's projection is in the relatively unusual scenario where you've one fuel ending in less than 50 days and the other fuel in less than a year (but over 50 days). But if you filter by fuel (to continue to have your fuels on separate tariffs), you'll get the normal defaults.

We do this so that you can compare what you'll shortly be paying and ensuring that we alert you that your costs are likely to increase.
