I was looking for car insurance quotes earlier today and got to the usual question about motoring convictions in the last 5 years...
I remember getting snapped by a camera but am not sure exactly when (was defo 2011) I would have previously looked on the paper counterpart but no longer have one! so I went onto dvla website to have a look but it only shows for four years. I emailed them but the response only stated that point stay on for four years, no help there!
I'm worried if I don't declare and have a claim they wont pay out but have no idea how to find this out ?

If you have declared this previously to your insurer then whatever you told them should be recorded somewhere in the policy documents.
Otherwise tell the insurer about the points and explain you can't remember the exact date.0
