Is it just a case of calling sse and telling them i want to go on their regular tarrif? Am using economy 7 for emersion heater only, only used 2 days a week.

Some companies - BG and Eon for example - will allow customers to go on a single rate(i.e. 24/7) tariff with an Economy 7 meter. They add the consumption on each meter(register) and treat as a single figure; e.g 1,000kWh on the off-peak register and 3,000kWh on the peak register is treated as 4,000kWh on a single rate tariff.
Other companies - Scottish Power for example - will not allow the above and you will need a new meter. You will need to check with SSE, and other companies. Most will require you to pay for a new meter.0
