"Regular savings account" is a generic term, although this can be some real/old account at the same time.
Are you saying that it's a "savings account with a bond / passbook" then?

In this case it is not generic.
Regular Savings account is the name of the previous account.
Regular Saver is the name of the new account.

Yes, but no! Nationwide accounts without a card all have the same sort code and account number.
  • Oh my. Can't we just accept the facts of the situation and move on? :P

Thanks to everyone - I did laugh at the panto joke! I contacted Nationwide and I can confirm that you need to use sort code : 07-00-93 account number : 33333334 reference number : xxxx/xxxxxxxxx (your account details)
The sort code and account number are generic to nationwide and the reference number directs the funds to your account.

It has become obligatory to circulate money through accounts that specify a minimum throughput per month to qualify for special deals. Thus it makes sense to pay into Flex qualifying accounts and then make a payment into the Flexclusive regular saver if you need to acquire a qualifying throughput towards the total of £750.

The instant access nature of the Flexclusive regular saver account is a joy. I commend the initiative whilst being opposed to switching bribery. Surely good savings interest rates and excellent service should be enough of a bonus ?

That's strange, becaue I opened a Flex Regular Saver yesterday and it has already appeared on my online banking with an 8 digit account nunber and a sort code 071040. I was told when I opened it that it was a card account.

You must have opened it in branch, because you had to 'opt in' for a card if applying online from memory?

That's a shame. Did they find out of their own accord?

No I told them, as I didnt want two accounts showing and they say that I dont qualify for the interest on the one I have funded, wasnt worth the risk...
