Car Accident - Do I claim?

We had a collision back in May in which involved a 3 car pile up we were at the back. Insurers decided we had to take the blame. The car in front slammed on and everyone went into the back of him
causing a knock on affect. Me and my 2 yr old daughter were in the car at the time and my husband was driving. It was a hugely stressful time, my husband was deployed the next day leaving me to sort it all, and was without a car for 3 weeks (plenty of emotional breakdowns on the phone to insurers etc).
I have been contacted numerous times by companies trying to get me to claim and I have constantly told them no. With hard times at the moment moneywise due to xmas and being on a debt management plan, two kids to support etc, I have looked into this.
We all did have some discomfort from the smash, some aches and pains on and off and our car was written off even though it was low impact. I understand it would be me claiming against my husband for me and my daughter. I feel a bit unsure about the whole thing really. I have never claimed for anything in my life, it kind of feels like I shouldn't as we weren't seriously injured but they are insistent I am entitled to claim something?
Firstly will this affect our insurance premiums? They told me it wouldn't? But not sure I believe them. We renewed and went with a cheaper insurer in July it had also gone up quite a bit then. Also is it really worth it? I imagine I won't get much. Seems like a lot of hassle, and a medical etc. Anyway the solicitors have a representive coming to visit me in my home at the weekend, and not really sure what to do. Has anyone been through anything similar and can advise. TIA.

What does your husband think you should do?
This may or may not affect his premium. It depends on the insurance company. Some will load the policy the same way regardless if it's a £100 claim or £10k claim. Others will load it more for things like personal injury.
If you do start with personal injury claim process you can't later pull out without incurring charges. All your base are belong to us.0
