Am I covered for refund claim?

in Credit cards
Hi
At the beginning of November I booked a hire car on the cardelmar.co.uk web site. There was some issues about payment, but they eventually took over £600 from my Saga credit card. I smelt a rat, and promptly cancelled my booking.
Cardelmar acknowledged the cancellation, by email, and said that the refund could take up to 10 days. That was on the 9th November. After 10 days I complained (which took ages), and received another email telling me that the refund was paid on the 19th November. Still nothing.
I have been in touch with Saga credit cards, and they have received nothing. They asked me to send copies of the emails regarding the cancellation some people called "Chargeback" in Dublin. I have again contacted Saga, who have acknowledged that the paperwork has reached Chargeback, and there is a note on my account.
What, if any are my rights? Has anyone else been down this path?
Regards
Andy.

What are cardelmar's cancellation terms? Immediately cancelling your booking might have been a big mistake0

OP appears to have emails accepting the cancellation and agreeing to a refund. Full refund?
If this is in fact the case the credit card company will accept this as evidence of the refund being due to you and should instigate a chargeback especially as the e-mail contains a statement that the refund was made on a certain date.
It looks like things are in hand but I think I would be tempted to ask them for a temporary credit to be put on the account not just a note.0 -

I have been looking at this car rental website.
I put in details for a car rental at an overseas airport very well known to me
The rental was offered with a car rental company that I had never heard of and does not to my knowledge have a desk at the airport. I know what car rental desks are there.
The address of the pick-up location (allegedly inside the airport terminal) is not the address of the airport or anything that could by any remote possibility be a road at or near to the airport.
The telephone number of the pick-up location has the last two digits of what would be the correct area code transposed and is reading as an area code several hundred miles away.
I think this is a website to stay clear of.0 -
