Theres not much to know about a smart meter, They record your gas and electric useage and send the information to the supplier and the In-home display (if the old homeowner didnt take it with them)
You can change supplier, however the smart functionality wont work, and your new supplier may request them to be removed.
Ensure you take meter readings when you move in, and do your research on the cheapest tariff, The lower the KWH the less you pay.0 -
If you want a laugh, try "stop smart meters UK " plenty of lies and bull on there. OVO and Utilita are using the Secure Liberty smart meters which are nt supported by any of the others in the big six and I dont think they will even when smart switching comes in. They may fund their own smart meters if you go with them.
British Gas and Sainsburys Energy smarts work fine if you switch, I just have done and mine are both working ok ( because they re the same supplier )0
