That is a regulated activity and not allowed.

However, you are right to be cautious as permanent health insurance does come in multiple levels. Effectively a budget, standard and comprehensive style banding. Some of the budget plans are barely worth paying for.

How do you intend purchasing the insurance as most PHI policies are only available via IFAs (or whole of market protection advisers)?

  • Not a budget plan then . One that will do what it says on the tin .
    Thanks

You would be best speaking to a mortgage or financial advisor.
Not only do you have them ensuring you get what you want, you have the added protection that its an advised sale.

It is a difficult one to cover on an internet site as the posters that know the most about it cannot give the info you want without breaching FCA guidelines. And realistically, given the wide variety in product coverage and how some are better with different occupations etc, it isnt something that can be told to you generically like that either.

It is a product that has little or no coverage on comparison sites (they prefer the PPI version of income protection. No underwriting at point of sale, simple online application and easy commission. The PHI version with many providers is still paper based.
