Using a vintage TV game on a flat screen TV

This isn't the problem I don't think - I assume OP DOES have the channel memorised and locked in. It sounds like the problem is that the super clever TV is protecting our precious eyes from that scary snow and associated noise, when it loses a signal (ie when the console turns off). Lots of TVs and VCRs will maybe show the snow momentarily, recognise it and blank it out. By the time OP's TV notices that there IS a signal again (console restarts) the console is straight into a game, which OP has missed part of.
A very simple and free solution, would be to simply pick up an ancient, free TV!
Actually, I'm wondering if the TV lets you select a saved channel even if it's not tuned in to anything at the time? If so, then it should allow the OP to have the TV ready to go and on the right channel before turning on the console.
These kinds of problems don't affect my TVs, they were made in 1981 and 1983, but I've helped a few people with modern TVs. Selecting a channel before turning on the device seemed to help in some cases.0 -
OP hasn't been back to confirm, Ben84, but even with the channel pre-selected, any TVs I've seen doing this, will blue screen after a couple of seconds of snow, maximum, then give you back the picture when it detects there is one. I THINK OP is getting the picture back too slowly.0
