Please help Bramley Apples??
We have some old wiserned apple trees in our garden and have never eaten any of the apples in 9 years. They have lots of bleamishes on the leaves and brown spots on some of the apples. Are they alright to eat ?? Is there anything apple trees can get that would stop you eating the apples?
I think they are bramleys because of the shape so will be cooking them.
Thank you for any advice.

Yes, they will be fine to eat. We used to have an ancient apple tree at our old house and they were affected the same as yours. Just cut out the brown bits and they will be fine.
Don't know what ours were either, but I remember I had to use a LOT of sugar as they were really tart.A friend is someone who overlooks your broken fence and admires the flowers in your garden.0 -

If you can find some blackberries to go with the apple, it'll make a wonderful jam.
I've also made Bramley Apple jelly to stir into soups, sauces & gravies when I couldn't get crab apples.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac

How about a 'help yourself' box at the roadside - with a charity collection?
By the way - I think there are more seconds in a year than you indicate!
I make it 31,557,600 (from 365.25 days in a year)
 So what are you going to do with extra seconds?0 -
