New trainers caused my foot to bleed

I've just bought a brand new pair of customised (i.e. with my name on them) trainers from a very famous sports apparel supplier. I ordered directly online.
I'm a very active person and walk/run/train/cycle daily and already have several pairs of trainers and have never had any issues with sports shoes until now.
I went out for a long walk in the new pair of trainers to bed them in. They felt a little uncomfortable to walk in and I felt a lot of pressure at the top of my right foot.
When I got back home I was shocked to see blood on the top of the trainers. The trainers had managed to cut my foot and the blood had gone through my socks and into the top mesh of the trainers.
Obviously I won't be wearing them again. They were very expensive trainers so I don't want to just bin them and lose my money.
What's the best way to get a refund, bearing in mind these were customised by the manufacturer so I can't just return them?

Long walk, new trainers and a blister..
Are the trainers defective?0 -
I'd want to sue them for this and for all the trouble caused, You should write in and ask for a few thousand pound from them as I am sure they will oblige you here.0

Is there a defect that cut your foot or is it a blister from a long walk in new trainers without adequate socks?
Unless there is a defect in manufacture you're not entitled to a refund.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Why would you need your name on trainers ?0

In case he is accidentally decapitated whilst out running. Then they can ID him:D:D:D0

The right shoe felt uncomfortable the moment I set off on my walk but I thought they would bed in. I use cushioned Nike sports socks to protect my feet.
I'm sure there is a manufacturing defect in the trainers. I'm not looking for compensation, and as stated in my opening post, just looking for advice on whether I can send them back for a refund.
Anyway, regardless of the sarcastic remarks above, I've spoken to the manufacturer this morning and they'll allow me to return them for a refund.
I don't post on here very often these days and am disappointed to see that people jump to conclusions and attempt to ridicule those asking for advice rather than try and help.Everyone is entitled to my opinion!0 -
