Linking two portable dvd players

I posted this on a different board, but didn't get a response (probably because I tried to hijack the tread), and i think here is more appropriate:

I like the idea of the 2x7" portable DVD player screens to keep my boys happy for the long drive down the french motorways this summer. However, it would also be nice to let them use the dvd players seperately when we get there - so the answer would be to get the seperate ones players, rather than one with two screens.
Does anyone know whether you can link two seperate units i.e. put a DVD in one and watch it on both screens for the car journeys?

Many thanks.

    Not too sure. I've only seen one in action and it used RCA type plugs for the LCD to DVD connection. I don't see why splitting the RCA's wouldnt allow 2 screens to be plugged into one DVD player.

    I'm amazed by this one;

    Getting video out should not be a problem but if the screens are integral (ie. not like the above link) then you won't have a way of hooking into the monitor part of it alone (and using it as a slave).

    ...Unless you tap the connection from the video board on one of the players but that might be a bit tefal-head for you. :D
    Multi-tasking is a way of ensuring you don't enjoy any of them.

    I'm really amazed by the deal from trade-x. Car DVD players arnt something i've really paid much attention to. But looking round the net I find lots of DVD players with 1 5-6' screen for £350.

    The trade-x deal is 2 7' screens. And they are nice! Last time I went to trade-x they had them playing a disney film and the screens are mint! Really slim design and not at all cheap looking, the picture was warm and very clear!

    I'm now thinking of buying one.... :D
