sorry, i switched off when OP spelt 'principal' as 'principle'.

probably no great loss, though since everything i know about wayleaves could comfortably be written on the back of a micro SD card.

Why switch off for such a simple spelling mistake or was it just simply you didn't know the answer?

Where should it be posted then?

It's probably better in the house buying/selling bit. It's more likely to be frequented by people with a legal background.

Yes, that wasn't a very polite post. But technically, it wasn't a spelling mistake, but the use of the wrong homophone. I guess the comment came from someone who is homophonophobic. Don't worry, I always need to refer back to the dictionary to make sure I'm using the correct one. It's a common mistake. BTW, aardvark is the correct spelling........I'll get my coat ;).

    The £13 K figure was a wind-up.

I did think the person with the 13K figure was being a bit silly and probably had no idea what they were talking about.

I very often use the computer/site spell checker

    why would you agree ?
    what is your land worth?
    could it ever be developed?
    have you consulted a solicitor?

why would you agree ? Why not being neighbourly
what is your land worth? I don't know a long time since I bought it
could it ever be developed? possibly not as agricultural
have you consulted a solicitor? No

the price of anything (unless the government steals it from you), is the price that you are willing to sell and the buyer is willing to buy.

how much is the way leave worth to your neighbour ? why shouldn't you share that value?

if the land could ever be developed, then the wayleave may cost you large sums of money (no-one will see you right)

often wayleaves have no end date so you are stuck once you sign: get a solicitor to check all the details and make sure you understand your risks.

    maybe more details would help
