Best help to buy isa please

Which is the best help to buy Isa please we want to get one set up this month but unsure of who to get it with.

  • Without a doubt it's Halifax, 4% interest trumps the competition.

    Only condition is that you have not paid into a cash ISA since the start of the financial year. If you have, you'll need to go with a provider that offers the ISA within an ISA 'wrapper', in which case Nationwide will fit the bill but only pays 2% interest.

    There is nothing to stop you opening the Nationwide ISA now and transferring it to Halifax at the start of the next financial year.

    I note you say 'we' want to set one up. If you plan to buy a house with another first time buyer, open one each in order to double the maximum potential bonus the government can give you.

    Thank you that was our guess I did own a house for about 2 years which was sold 10 years ago so I am not a first time buyer unfortunately, but my wife is so she's taking it out.
