Hello Friends,
I have a tape based camcorder of cannon FV-M20. I want to use this to record streaming video. Either through laptop or through my smart LG TV, on which the video is streaming. My laptop is very simple one. It has VGA out port. The TV has SCART and AV ports.
I need advise on this as to how I can achieve this. Please advise.
Thanks.

Your TV does not output a video signal.
For the laptop use screen capture software, much easier. Google "screen capture software."Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
Then how does USB recording in TV take place?0

The canon FV-M20 is a DV Camcorder, the TV will not have an output which is compatible with the camera. The TV has analogue output from Scart and AV, the camera needs a digital input via a firewire connection which is not possible with the configuration you have.0

Hey, Thanks really for the reply. Appreciate it.
The camcorder manual says that it can record from analogue source using AV cable (STV-250N). If the SCART port outputs analog signal, can I not use a simple SCART to AV adapter ( common on Amazon) and do the recording.
BTW, is SCART output port or input port in TV?
Also the possibility of using a screen capture software is ruled out since they come with limited trial period or cost some 200.00 GBP
