Outsourcing...help needed !

I've tried google but can't find the answer, so any help greatly appreciated.
My entire team (approx 15 ) face redundancy as our jobs are being outsourced. There is no question of anyone being able to relocate to the new company (although I'm sure this should be offered)
The outsourcing company is in Scotland, we are in England.
I'm NOT supposed to know this is happening as it hasn't been formally announced, however, let's say I stumbled across something I shouldn't have both in the office and social media.
The new team have already been recruited and will start training in Jan. When, legally should we be made aware? Surely we should be told before or on the day the new team start training ?
And....should we have been offered the chance to relocate ?
Thanks for reading.

Perhaps they are just creating a new team?ally.0

No, it's a definite outsource. A new team to literally replace ours. Due to location it'll save the company a fair bit.0

There is a chance TUPE may apply which can complicate who makes you redundant.
I would start looking for work if you are sure this is going to happen, there will be 15people looking and it can help to be the first out on the market.
Was the social media public, also there may be other givaway signs in recruitment adds often happens there is enough to identify the companies involved.
Any unusual travel by bosses or visitors in the last couple of months another give aways sign.
Check the vistors sign in book, reception are often the first to twig something is going on.0 -
Thanks Getmore4less !
No chance of TUPE as the positions are being moved to Scotland. Yes, lots of visitors and strange new procedures, almost a kind of 'tidying ' up systems. I've even located the ad the new company have placed (tho carefully worded, I know it's my job )
The new staff start straight after xmas, so I was wondering if by law we should be told about redundancy BEFORE they start training, or can they just tell us when they like ?0 -
Scotland does not stop TUPE applying if it does you get transferred then the new company deals with the relocation/redundancy.
Collect as much evidence as you can in case you need it0 -
So, in that case, we should have been offered chance to TUPE over to new company BEFORE they went ahead and recruited full new team?
I'm keeping everything !0 -
They will probably have recruited in the belief nobody will want to relocate. They do not have to offer relocation assistance. It's literally 'finish in England on Friday and start work in Scotland on Monday'.
Check your contract of employment as it does not change under a TUPE too. If your contract says you can be made to work anywhere in the UK there may be storms ahead.0 -
Thanks, will check contract tonight.0

I'm unsure whether they had to tell you before starting the project - they could still ask you whether you want to move during your consultation perhaps?ally.0

Union? or reps?
It may be they have done some consultation.0
