Computershare letter for Unclaimed Shares

Just received a letter from this computershare company saying I have outstanding shares with a company I used to work for and that I need to contact them (cs) within 45 days to confirm my address. Thing is I had a stock plan with this former company and when I log I have precisely zero shares outstanding with my old company. Also when I log into the CS website and try to query them for companies that they are the registrars for my old company is not recognised by name or trading symbol. I am now wondering if I should sign the letter and return it as they request or maybe this is some kind of more sophisticated ebola monkey scam so I should simply chuck it in the bin. From my googling CS seem to be a legit company so I am confused how they got my details & if I should act on them...please anyone?
