I'm just as hacked of as a few others are on here about Microsoft's underhand approach to trying to force install the upgrade to windows 10.

I'm currently trialing, to good effect, the GWX stopper tool, for anyone that may be interested.

[STRIKE]That's the cue for some big headed posters to come along and spoil yet another of my threads because their lives are so miserable they don't know what else to do with themselves[/STRIKE]

Thanks. Very quick and easy to download and use. Getting rid of the W10 nuisance had been on my to do list for a while.

I hope the writers keep the GWX Stopper tool updated because it now seems that Microsoft are playing the game of issuing new Updates periodically under different KB numbers to achieve the same end.

It has been upgraded several times and is now known as 'GWX Control Panel'. Among other improvements it can now delete the update files if your PC has already downloaded them while you weren't looking and can monitor your PC for any future attempts to sneak them past you.

    Current version is 1.6.0.1.
