Want to upgrade laptop RAM- max possible?

Slow browsing is more often caused by a slow internet connection/WiFi or sometimes slow websites than it is by a slow PC.
If the machine came with 3GB of RAM and a 64bit OS then unless something has gone badly wrong with it I doubt that it won't have the grunt for a browser.
As others have said for general upgrades though SSDs beat extra RAM for cost effectiveness these days unless the RAM is woefully lacking.0 -
should have clarified- would be looking to replace both chips, depending on a good price- 3gb each slot..
Does an SSD fit in the same slots, or somewhere else? Rather confused re SODIM, DDR etc..
Often have 5 or 6 tabs open, at any one time..breathe in, breathe out- You're alive! Everything else is a bonus, right? RIGHT??0 -
SSD = Solid State Disk.
i.e. a hard drive upgrade rather than RAM.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Your laptop takes DDR2 sodimms, not DDR3.

Notice how much closer the notch is to the nearest end.
Not cheap. There's not much demand for high capacity DDR2 so not much supply, so prices are much higher than DDR3.0 -

You can't get 3GB SODIMMs, of any form factor or speed, for fairly obviously reasons.0
