Leak from brand new bathroom!

So, quick update.
Plumber was great. He was able to screw in the internal compartment of the waste, an extra half turn. So he thinks it was because of that that water was leaking through. It makes some sense as I struggled to get the chrome lid off,and at one point was twisting it, so may well have loosened the seal in doing that.
Going to leave it 24 hours now, and see what comes. Worst case he said he would access via the kitchen ceiling, and then redo it so we never knew he'd been up there.
Panic over. I hope.
Thanks for all the advice / feedback0
