INR case, what happens if left running

Buyer opened a INR on Tuesday, item had been sent the week before second class. Was a large letter & not signed for, I replied to the buyer stating it had been posted the week before but not heard anything back from them, so I'm presuming they received it? What happens if the case is left running, will it time out if the buyer doesn't respond? Thank you

Clearly they have not received it, so best to refund them claim from the post office.

Sounds like your buyer has been reasonable and waited a period of time to see if it would arrive.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

A week is very reasonable, but I have just had an INR case closed by the buyer as the item arrived 9 days after posting, so the Christmas post problems have started early this year.

Buyer has opened a case so they have no reason to contact you further. Case will time out in their favour and they will get a refund. If however you refund before it times out you do get your FVFs back.

  • I've previously known people to have the item arrive and not respond on the case or close it, so i was curious as to what happens. This is the third parcel from RM gone missing in the last month, unsurprisingly i've had no INRs from myhermes parcels i've sent.
I've just looked at the buyers feedback left for others, there every other feedback left is a negative or a neutral, most saying 'had to open a case, never received' so i wouldn't be surprised if they have received it. Absolutely had it with ebay now, surely buyers like this should be investigated and yet again i'll be out of pocket

This is not correct, the case will only go in the buyers favour if they raise it to eBay, if both sides do nothing it will just close without giving a refund.

OP pop a message in the case asking the buyer if they received their item.

  • Okay thank you that's good to know, I did message them last night via the case asking if this had now arrived & they haven't replied as yet, I was just sceptical as they opened the case at the earliest opportunity and didn't message me first

Having just been through this, I can confirm that nothing happens unless you raise it through ebay a second time ie. you open the case, they initiate contact for you with the other party and you can raise it to them to decide on after 8 days or so.

In the end I closed the case I had on a seller because I was able to send the late arriving item on at a profit and didn't want to bother with anything any more.
