in Credit cards
Hi, my girlfriend has £3000 left to pay in student loans after overpaying about £3000 in the last year. She wants to pay it off in the next year.
Can a student loans be balance transfered onto a 0% card, or is there a clever way any of you guys know of not paying any interest at all on it.
Thanks

no, you can't transfer it to a credit card.Krusty & Phil Madoff, 1990 - 2007:

If she can get a 0% CC that allows BTing to her current a/c then she can use the money to pay off the student loan.
MBNA stable of cards and eggmoney allow this.0 -
Why doesn't she save into a high-interest savings account rather than paying it off, out of interest? She could earn more interest (even with the rate rise to 4.8% in September) than she would be accruing that way.0

eh? There is no interest to pay on student loans, well, ok, there is, but its so little, there is essentially no point for the little that you would gain.0

she can apply for a 0% purchase card, and ring student loans company and pay off the loan with the credit card, once the 0% has ended BT to another credit card. But this would all depend upon what limit they will offer her.0
