Getting cash back on a debit card

I wonder if anyone can help me, I was in wilko sons today paying for my goods I asked for £50 cash back, put my card in reader, entered pin, realised it was the wrong pin for the card as I had put wrong card in so she voided it and I took my card out. I was going to pay with my other card but she said sorry although it has been voided the cash back has been taken out! So she gave my the cash back and I left the store a bit confused as to how the cash back had been taken out when no PIN number was entered. I looked at the receipt and it says transaction void. I had to jump on bus and didn't have time to check the bank. Do you think the £50 has come out of my bank? Or is there no way this could of happened as I didn't enter a PIN number? Or have I been given a free £50!
