germany sounds good and ..i quote A person can earn an extra €165 a month, working less than 15 hours, without it affecting their benefit.:T“Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”

I think you'll find Germany's benefit system is mainly contribution based ie you need to have paid in (via NI or their equivalent) to get much out. Same for most of Europe. The UK is one of the most generous countries for working age benefits.0

Ireland has a generous system if you have previously been in work, but as with other countries you need to have paid sufficient contributions (PRSI) to qualify. The benefit is time limited and the country has a high rate of unemployment - not a place I'd recommend for resettlement.0

The UK is much better. UK pays more than most other countries but the UK does have higher living costs. All you need to do is find a cheap area in which to live but isn't too much of a lower socio-economic area so that you do have some chance of finding work.
If you want to do just a little work in the UK you can work less than 16 hours a week as a self employed sole trader and as long as you make sure the profit you get isn't any more than £5 per week it will not affect your benefits.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

This reads as though you intend to live off benefits, paid for by people who work, instead of working yourself.
I doubt any country, other than this stupid one, would welcome someone just coming along for benefits, with no intention of working.0 -
Hundreds of thousands of the worlds worst layabouts are trying to get here.
Thousands a night line ferry ports and truck stops of France having travelled across the globe.
That should tell you which country looks after layabouts the best.
Ask the professional layabouts of the world.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -

"Layabout" and "travelled across the globe" are more than a little contradictory! :rotfl:0 -

You know that you are talking about early retirement? A man in his 50s who has not worked for a year is highly unlikely to be offered another job -- ever.0
