Medical Cover for living, working and studying in Spain

A very good friend of mine is going to study in Spain for a year.

I was wondering of anyone knew a good option for her to get health cover while she’s there. She’s been told that as she will be working there an E111 will not cover her and I suspect a regular holiday policy will fall far short of what she requires. Ideally she needs something that will give her all the benefits she currently gets on the NHS as a minimum but does not expect her to pay up front and claim back.

Any and all suggestions would be very gratefully received and if anyone has experienced any bad companies the warnings will be heeded.
If you see someone without a smile.
