barring a real emergency ( in hospital, too ill to attend) then very little would be good reason.

Get you for putting the OP's mind at rest. Your post really helps.0 -
it isn't only one chance.
if you phone and ask for a new appointment ( with reason) you can rearrange.
its the not turning up thats the issue0 -
i can see why people have killed themselves over matters such as this.
giving people just one chance to attend the appointment is absurd, especially people with mental health problems who are often disorganized, absent-minded and untogether.
the whole thing is draconian.
You originally posted nine days, have you been in contact with anyone to explain your reasons and rearrange an appt? They will give you a chance to explain your reasons and, if you contact them within a reasonable time, they will offer another appt.
No one should be killing themselves over something that is easily remedied.0 -

Well having a asthma attack and passing out and waking up hours later was not considered 'good reason enough' for me a few years ago, even with my GP medical notes that state I have poorly controlled asthma due to the unresponsive nature of such to medication and overuse of ventolin emergency inhaler as a last resort.
OP just call them, no point worrying yourself into a state, the longer you dont communicate they more them government employees frown on you like you are wasting their time and money.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe
