So it's perfectly legal to use two names? I was under the impression of you change your name by s the name you used and unless you change it again you should stick with it. I know you can in theory call yourself what you want, you just have to start using the name and tell everyone you are using it, but I was under the impression using two names at the same time was considered fraudulent. I had the same issue with Vodafone and had never been turned down for credit before in my life. My husband applied for it in his name rather than risk too many searches and it affecting my file.
It is likely to be because it takes a while for all the credit reports to catch up. Mine has all been changed on bank accounts etc for 6 weeks but my credit report is still coming up in my maiden name and only one of them has a name association.
I would just wait until everything catches up and not apply for anything in this time if that is possible.0
