No chain completion by Christmas, solicitor taking me for a ride...

You can blame your solicitor for wasting time only if they had the information and did nothing with it.
Well this is what gets me at first she was super quick responding, saying she'd be in direct contact etc.. updating me every question. This was before we paid my £300 deposit.

Then we paid... I asked the f&f questions, took her a few days to pass them on. Then a week passed, I asked for an update a few times, no reply, one email bounced back so called up couldn't get hold of. Second week still no luck, girlfriend emailed on third week saying she was concerned and would be popping into the office to see what was up... she then replied instantly with all the answers, 5 mins after we emailed. She didn't state when they came in and now everything is suddenly sorted... just seemed a bit like she'd been holding off telling us to delay us until after Christmas.

Now after we've kicked up a fuss it seems as though completing before Christmas could be on the table (if the vendor is still happy to do so). Understand from comments that it's up to them so maybe unlikely but will see.

Just seems weird, I was recommended them and find the service really bad. I rely on recommendations for my own business and I've ignored a client for a couple of hours at most. I can't get my head around it.

Thanks again for the replies, i guess my next worry is her getting it done before our mortgage offer expires in Feb.
