Hello there,
Anyone else experience difficulty getting a travel insurance / backpackers insurance policy because they have not returned to the UK for more than a year and a half?

Also, I have past medical conditions which do not need covering, but not all insurers allow you to exclude this.

Many thanks

In general travel insurance issued in the UK must be for a trip starting in the UK, which yours isn't. There are I believe a few companies that will do what you want but from what I've read on here they aren't the cheapest. World Nomads seems to be one (I had a vague recollection of the name, and their site says you can buy even after you've left home).
  • Cool thanks, if anyone has recommendations for world-wide travel insurers that would great.
