graphics card reccommendations

I have this motherboard - https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/M5A78LMUSB3/. Generally happy with the onboard graphics but they don't seem to agree with Windows 10 (mostly works fine but with some very annoying issues when coming out of standby). I have the newest drivers I can find so thinking about if it's worth getting a pci graphics card - I've looked, and there are just so many!
I think I'm looking for PCIe x16, and there doesn't look like there's much space above the slot so maybe needs to be a single height one, but beyond that, I'm stumped!
Don't want to spend too much obviously - don't need super hi-spec - so maybe £30 - £50? Any reccommendations?

what are annoying issues and what makes you think a new graphics card will solve themDon't you dare criticise what you cannot understand0

If you haven't updated to latest BIOS already then I'd suggest doing so first and see if that solves your problem.
The 760G chipset is AMD HD3000 graphics which is only supported via Microsoft and is WDDM 1.1 only. If you are looking at a new card then something like this might be suitable for you at £43:

Going from a AMD HD3000 IGP to a NV 730 DDR3 discrete will feel like a snail being accelerated to warp speed anywayScience isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
For the upper end of your range you could get your hands on an AMD HD7770 - great little 1GB card for the price with a clock speed of 1GHz. Mine played Skyrim on high. North Tamriel never looked so beautiful. Easily overclockable via MSI Afterburner too. I've just purchased an R9380 after 3 yrs with the 7770.
Might not fit your board/case though.
Comparison bench with the above mentioned 730;

If the OP is not hardcore gaming the 730 will be fine, it's low watt, low profile and passively cooled so no whirly things making a racket. It supports DX12 (DX11 extended) and WDDM 2.0 (ideal requirement for W10) and comes in close to the centre on the budget range.
If they wanted a bit more grunt but going out of their budget then by far the best choice would be a GTX 750 or GTX 750ti as these run at much lower wattage than their AMD counterparts for the same performance bracket.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
Many thanks everyone - will have a look at the links you've all provided. To answer some of your points.....what are annoying issues and what makes you think a new graphics card will solve them
Display is shrunk to a 6" square in the centre of the monitor - only way to get it back to normal is to reboot. As for if a new graphics card will help - given that the onboard chip is fairly old and there aren't any windows 10 drivers for it, I thought it was worth a tryEven if it doesn't fix that, having better graphics is never a bad thing is it

I do like the sound of passive cooling (quiet and easier to fit) - but all the ones I've looked at seem to have massive heat sinks (obviously) which I'm not sure there's room for! I'm not much of a gamer so don't need grunt :rotfl:- budget isn't really set in stone though0 -
wouldn't work at all without drivers, see if hibernate produces the same effect
depends on your attitude to spending money unnecessarily. Given the nature of this site, it's a reasonable assumption that it might be a concern. the majority of users wouldn't notice any difference if they replaced on-board video with a card, apart from more driver crashes, heat, and noise possiblyDon't you dare criticise what you cannot understand0
