Hi everyone,
I have this issue with my shower, was wondering if I could get help here. Ours is a thermostatic bar shower with a pump from a hot water tank.
It has stopped working so in order to try and identify what the fault is I removed the thermostatic bar whereon the pump kicked in and water started flowing from both the hot and cold pipes.
Thinking the fault was the bar. I ordered a new one and fitted it but the problem of no flow persists. Could someone please help me?
It is similar to this. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Modern-Thermostatic-Shower-Designer-Bathroom/dp/B003S5WF2A

I'm guessing as it reqs a min of 1 bar it's not letting enough water through to start the pumpI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
Thanks, it had been working without any issues for about 2 years, being used daily. You can have God without religion!0

Drop the shower head into the bath and then turn on - does it work then?

I have actually taken off the shower head and connector. It's only the thermostic bar remaining. Yet the pump doesn't kick in when I turn it on. As soon as I take the bar water starts gushing out from both cold and hot. That's why I'm mystified. ThanksYou can have God without religion!0

Have you cleaned out the filters on the pump connectors? If these get furred up they don't let enough water through for the pump to kick in when you turn on the shower.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

On most pump they're at the point where the flexipipes connect to the pump, they're little round discs with a mesh centre, no bigger than a large washer. What pump do you have?
If you look at the diagram on this page they're item No.2

Thanks for your help, I will check it out. I have a salamander pump. Could that be the cause? The pump does kick in instantly and water flows from both cold and hot outlets when I take off the thermostatic shower bar. When I put it back on that's when nothing happens.
