You could but it is a pile of crap in comparison to the decent charger that grumbler posted above.
It is a waste of money buying a cheap timer charger, you need intelligent deltaV charge control to get the optimum capacity out of your batteries.
The 1300mAh batteries included are pathetic, most Ni-Mh AA's are rated at 2900mAh.
A decent charger on the high street will cost a lot more than the one posted in post #2.or others available online.0 -
?????
I put my batteries in - They come out charged
That's everything I want from a battery charger !! and it fills both requirements from the OP0 -

But this is the Techie Stuff Board where people come for technical advice and to save themselves money by not buying expensive rubbish.
Any timer based charger like the example that you posted above, will only charge one specific capacity of batteries and even then not to their full capacity.
A proper intelligent charge will only cut off the charge current when the cells are charged to their FULL capacity irrespective of capacity e.g. 1300mAh or 2900mAh etc..
As proper chargers are readily available for less money than a rubbish one, it is a no brainer to any real techie!0 -

http://www.battery-force.co.uk/detail_GPCHRG001N-GP-PowerBank-PB420-Overnight-Charger-w-4-AA-EkoPower.htmlCharging times are shown on the back of the pack as being AA 1300mAh 9 and AAA 650mAh 4 hours and a higher capacity battery such as a 2100mAh battery 13.5 hours.
Not to mention 13.5 hours charging time and that often one wants to refresh a partly discharged battery. This is a good entry level charger if you are new to the rechargeable world.
I want to put my batteries in and not to bother about a timer and to making sure I am at home in 4/9/13 hours to take the batteries out.0 -
I notice that the charger from Halfords does not have any reviews I wonder why ? it must be that nobody has bought one0

Awesome .. Lets have a link then ............
You are just being childish now but here is a link to an intelligent charger available on the High Street for the same price as the rubbish one that you recommended.
http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/panasonic-intelligent-quattro-nimh-aaa-and-aa-battery-charger-n39na
I have seen these inteligent chargers in various supermarkets e.g. Morrisons, ASDA but can't provide links to those items.
I have used one from 7day shop for well over a decade with no problems!0
