PPI Claim?

For several years I have had PPi calls to my landline with left answer machine messages of I could could claim if I have been mis sold PPi then to say enter 5 to continue to operator and for months I arrived home to listen to these 08...number (mainly the same number.. Buzz claims from Swansea..I used to just delete or if I was in the house I would pick up the phone and hang up. Today I pressed the 5 and was immediately chatting to a nice lady who was asking lots of questions and I asked her how she got my number and how do you know I qualify. She asked me numerous questions had some lighthearted banter then she said she would put me onto a high claim colleague as I had a good case to make a few claims. I was sent this email bout the company and terms and conditions but then hung up. He rang back several times and I just didn't bother to answer. 30% was mentioned but a fee because of the paperwork leading up to investigation. Why are they so adamant to contact me with so many calls? Who gave them my landline number?
Anyway I decided I should try some diy and look at this forum on how to do it alone. I contacted a couple of mortgage lenders I have been with over the years (I am 49) so I have had a few c/c to. My query is this. I understand that PPi could be hidden in the interest rates we have paid over the repayment period. I am not aware of taking any insurance out with these lenders. So can I trust the integrity of the lenders I have contacted to check through my records even if it dates back from 1988? They have asked me over the phone the reason I think I have a claim. I am jumping on the PPi wagon as we are constantly bombarded with tv advertisements for PPi claims.
Volkswagon Finance back in mid 90's total charge for credit was £1781 for car I bought for £6522. Hidden PPi charges?
Nationwide mortgage in Mid 90's. Hidden PPi charges?
Lloyds bank C/C in 1989. Reached my £5000 limit. Hidden charges? Before tarting came along
Any feedback would be appreciated.

PPI cannot be hidden. It's on your statements or you didn't have it.
Stop talking to nice ladies from claims companies.0 -
Swansea. The scam CMC capital of the UK.Buzz claims from Swansea. She asked me numerous questions had some lighthearted banter then she said she would put me onto a high claim colleague as I had a good case to make a few claims.
What a load of BS. You dont know if you had it yet they have put you on a high claim basis. Why are they so adamant to contact me with so many calls?
Because the success on the 1 person is worth 20-30 calls.I understand that PPi could be hidden in the interest rates we have paid over the repayment period.
No. That is not possible. Its a CMC myth.Volkswagon Finance back in mid 90's total charge for credit was £1781 for car I bought for £6522. Hidden PPi charges?
If there was PPI it would appear as a charge on the agreement. Not hidden.Nationwide mortgage in Mid 90's. Hidden PPi charges?
Nope. It would appear on the statements. (most by direct debit on your current account).Lloyds bank C/C in 1989. Reached my £5000 limit. Hidden charges? Before tarting came along
Nope. It would appear on each statement you ever paid on it (and only if you borrowed money outside of the free period).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
