Linked Detached - Noise?

We are due to move to a linked detached house next month and I am starting to worry a little about the potential for noise.
The houses are linked by both house's garages so we have our house then garage, the neighbours garage then their house. The lounges are at the garage side so at least 20 feet and 3 brick walls between the 2 houses.
Is there likely to be any noise travelling fron house to house? I am thinking as much for the noise that I might make as well as neighbour noise.
I suppose I should have worried about this earlier but just want some reassurance!

Depends what they are up to , in the garage...or if any get converted to roomsNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0

Our house is link detached - our garage is joined to next door's lounge (we are on the end of a row).
We don't hear noise from them, but when our tumble dryer which lives in the garage was playing up, they could hear it thudding (as could we through our whole house!). They also heard it when we were putting up shelves in the garage.
But those are not 'every day' noises - we don't hear sounds from inside their house, and they don't hear sounds from inside our house.0 -
I can't see why there'd be any more noise than there would be if there was a gap. As suggested above, noise created within the garages won't be well insulated, but that's much the same whether detached or not.0

I live in a linked semi so it goes:
house1-house2-garage2-garage3-house3-house4-garage4...
I'm in 'house3' and the only noise we hear is from the house4 that is attached to us. And only then when they race a herd of elephants up the stairs (at least, that's what it sounds like!). A bit of noise from summer BBQs too I suppose.
FWIW, 'house2' converted their garage into extra living space 2 years ago and haven't complained about the noise of the tumble dryer in our garage(3)."I love deadlines. I love the whooshing noise they make as they go by."0 -
Sometimes the neighbours have parties and as they don't wish to smoke inside they all go outside and they are noisy. It's occasional you put up with it.:footie:

At present the garages are not converted to anything. The design of the garages in all the houses in the estate allow for conversion to make another bedroom our link is the only 2 in the street not to have had this done. We would have no need to have another room so even if next door converted theirs we would not become a semi in that way.
Not bothered about noise etc from outside as this would be exactly the same noise whether linked or detached by a few feet I suppose.0 -
Ours is like this and we don't hear anything. Our neighbours have a very yappy dog that they always apologise for, but we never hear him!0
