If you have a catalogue seconds/returns shop in your area, this is a great place to start - I very recently bought a brand new tandem 3-wheeler for £75 (£215 in shops) Nothing wrong with it at all, just returned by someone who changed their mind. How's that for money saving!? Make friends with the people who work there - they might ring you if something comes in.
Failing that, searching t'internet has usually worked for me (try this site: http://www.pramsonline.com/allterrain.htm)
You could also try ebay for a bargain, although it's not recommended you buy a second hand car seat as you don't know the history of it.
Final advice...think carefully about what you want! I bought a travel system, which was no good for 'off-roading' so then bought a 3-wheeler. Then I decided I needed a stroller for around town. Now we're expecting again and there is a new tandem lined up. Result: a garage full of flippin' buggies!!!!!0 -

They often have some good bargains in, worth visiting this site regularly as the stock changes, and when I ordered from them delivery was very quick. I got a good buy on a car seat 'cus it was last years "colours".0 -
i did also a lot of research when i need a travel system. try https://www.discountbabystore.co.uk they sometimes have good bargains and end of range items. One thing though measure your car's boot... i didn't and it's a very tight fit..
best of luck
