Wrong Item delivered - what are my rights?

I ordered an item online value £300.
It was delivered as arranged. I checked it over and found it's not the item I ordered but a higher spec one (value £900).
What are my rights? I know if you receive unordered items that you can keep them but what about when the manufacturer sends you the wrong item.

I don't think you can keep unordered items. They might contact you if they realise that they sent more expensive one.Come on you Irons0

You need to get in touch with the retailer and advise them of their mistake - they should arrange to swap them without hassle / cost to you.0

Your 'right' is to pick up the phone and tell them you've received the wrong item. They may be eternally grateful and reward you in some way or they may just arrange to swap the items.
Either way you avoid a nasty surprise in the future when they realise and ask for their goods back or payment0 -

I think your right is to speak to the company and arrange a swap at no cost to you, or to pay them £600.
This is always said so i wont disappoint. Would you be fine if you paid for a £900 item and they sent you the £300 one?0 -

This is not generally true. It is only if you were sent unsolicited goods (i.e. unrequested goods that were sent to you with the aim of getting you to purchase them) that you can keep them.
You should speak to the retailer. They should offer to sort the matter out at no cost to you, and they should not put you to an unreasonable amount of effort.0
