DART charge PCN error - can I challenge?

So they have a pic of my car and the number plate is correct, so is the vehicle manufacturer (FIAT) but the PCN is telling me the car is an automatic and a different model. Then when I log in online it tells me that my car is yet another automatic model!

The car is not automatic and I don't own any automatic cars. The only thing they got right is the number plate and the vehicle manufacturer.

Can I challenge the ticket on this basis?

Presumably it was you going over the crossing? Then unless you want to go down the 'it wasn't me guv, must be a cloned numberplate' route, you'll have to pay won't you.

Another person in the wrong that tries to get out of it. Why oh why can't people just be honest and decent and own up to things when caught?!

Did you use the crossing without paying? If so, grow up.

The database that shows the model of car associated with that plate and that manufacturer may contain an error. But seeing they have a picture of your Fiat with your registration number committing the infraction, such errors shouldn't invalidate their case. Who cares what transmission you have or for that matter what gear you were in?

Obviously if the pic is not of your car because you didn't use the crossing that day, you should appeal it.
