CD to MP3

I want to convert a full CD into one track, MP3 file. I have ripped the CD but as you know there are several tracks on it but I need to convert them to one track, like the old fashioned tapes of old where everything was one. Anybody know if there's a prog out there that may be useful?? I have Audacity but can't seem to do it. If only I had a tape recorder :rotfl:
Cheers

The easiest thing to do would be to rip the CD again into individual tracks.

Otherwise, convert it to MP3, play it back to find the gaps between tracks, and use mpTrim to snip the big MP3 into each track.

Put mp3 joiner into google for several examples of free software to do this.
  • I haven't tried it, but FreeRIP MP3 Converter has a feature to rip multiple tracks directly to a single output file.

You didn't say what you used to rip the CD but iTunes can do what you want.

Put the CD in the drive then in iTunes select all the tracks and click on options. Select combine tracks then click import CD

    Audacity +1

Simple & easy audio editing. It can be a bit slow on very large files, but it can definitely do the job.

To do the job in Audacity:-

    - Load all the tracks as individual Audacity tracks (using drag & drop, or one of the multi-file open options).

    - Use Tracks | Align Tracks | End-to-end to rearrange the tracks for combining.

    - Use Tracks | Mix & Render to new track to combine them

    - Remove the original tracks

    - Use File | Export Audio... to get a single MP3 file at the end of the process.

Several steps, and some of them take a few minutes, but they don't need watching.

Make sure you don't get arrested ;) lol now the silly law of ripping CDs being illegal has been passed again... makes no sense really!

Good luck in getting what you need.
