Hi,
My other half is showing as Financial Associate on my credit report.
How does that effect when she or I apply for credit?
Will they take into account the total available credit she has when I apply for credit?
Me and my other half do not have any adverse information such as arrears, defaults CCJs etc.
Thanks
MS

Do you know how she is logged as an associate? Presumably you have a joint financial product of some sort?
You will be assessed jointly for credit.0 -
There is some information on financial associations on the Experian website which you might find useful:

Thanks for replying back. The financial associated created afew months ago. We do not have any joint bank accounts etc.
One of the question asked on disassociation form What is person relationship to you?
Obviously its my partner - By putting that down is it likelihood they refuse to remove the link? Thinking being my partner we will be financially linked.
Thanks again

It is only financial products that mean you are associated.
Being someone's partner or even married to them doesn't mean your have to show as financially associated.
If you don't have a joint bank account / mortgage / loan etc then you can be disassociated.
Worth checking all 3 credit reference agencies, you'll need to file a notice of disassociation with each that have you as associated.
If you don't have any joint products, has you applied for a joint financial product at some point? if not it is unusual that you would ever have been associated by a credit provider.
If neither of you have any adverse info on your files then the association is less of an issue, but still worth filing a disassociation in my opinion.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
