HFC advice please

1997 took out a monthly repayment loan with them. We have the original paperwork! However, HSBC have written stating they uphold our complaint and acknowledge we were miss-sold PPI but cannot make a payment to us as they have no paperwork at all about the account. I have since found 4 statements from HFC (various borrowings of over £7,000 down to £2,000 and clearly states PPI £46 to £3 per month). do I just send in these 4 statements or contact my old bank and ask for copies of statements on my bank account? Don't want to waste time if that's not necessary. Thanking you in advance.

HFC are probably not making a payment because they cannot be sure that PPI was paid for as agreed. It may be that you cancelled it a few months into the loan, for example.

If you are able to show them anything which shows that you paid PPI for the entire course of the loans, then they ought to refund your premiums.

Even if you are only able to dig up a few statements covering a few years, it would be reasonable for HFC to make some kind of effort to pay a refund.

See what you can find and then speak to HFC.
