Boiler Repair
I have arranged for a plumber to visit within the next few days to replace the diverter valve. It will cost me: £320.
I remember there use to be lots of hype about grants for boiler replacement, so I wanted to make sure that I am not missing a trick:
I live in Lincoln; I am 34 years old; I live alone; I do not receive any benefits; I earn around £37,000; the boiler was fitted in 2002.
I have boiler insurance, however it only covers me for emergencies i.e. if I have no central heating or hot water. I have a few questions:
1) Are there any boiler replacement/boiler fix schemes that I am entitled to?
2) Does anyone have boiler insurance that covers you for none emergencies? How much does this cost?
3) Do people just wait until the boiler packs up and then claim on the emergency cover, rather than be proactive and sort problems out yourself?

Thanks. However, I have checked Ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/POTTERTON-POWERMAX-24HE-HE-85-115-150-DIVETER-VALVE-240398-BRAND-NEW-/360374084852?hash=item53e7f824f4:g:dw0AAMXQPatTGwiZ. The cost appears to be £141.40.0 -
