Leeds Regular Saver issue 3. Funding Question.

As this is a post/branch account only, is it possible to fund this account via standing order?
I tried to set up a standing order from a Santander account but can only input a 9 digit account # and my Leeds account has a 10 digit #
Anyone got any experience of paying into a Leeds acc.via standing order?

Yes, I fund my LeedsBS regular saver directly from my Santander123 account. You use the LeedsBS central account number & sort-code printed in your passbook and using your own LeedsBS account number as the reference number that accompanies the payment so that LeedsBS can allocate the incoming funds into the correct account.

The regular saver accounts are now visible on the LeedsBS web-site (started three or four months ago), so you can check that payments have arrived. The payment won't appear on the itemised list until the following day (although the "available funds" value is updated within a few hours, remembering that £50 of the account is not available).

The Santander123 system has a flaw: you can't change the reference number in an existing standing order (the web-site appears to allow you to change it and a new number appears, but the system still sends the old data). If you need to change the reference number, you have to delete the standing order and recreate from scratch.

Yes, you can fund it via standing order. When setting up the standing order you use the sort code and account number of the Leeds BS and you put your 10 digit account number in the reference field.

The three numbers you need are on the inside front cover of your account passbook.

I have just opened this account and received my passbook, it shows my cheque was paid in on 26 April, I'm going to set up a standing order for future payments but wondering can I do so today for May or do I have to wait to do each one on the 26th of the month too?

How do you view the regular saver online? I have tried to register but it doesn't recognised my account number as its not on the list of online accounts.

I have a customer number but its asking for a password. I opened my account last March when there wasnt an option to open one online, wonder if thats the reason.

Hmm, yes, I see what you mean.

I guess you'll have to ring and ask them for advice. I've had accounts with Leeds BS for years (back in the days when it was Leeds & Holbeck BS) and already had an account which allowed on-line transactions and then one day without any announcement the Regular Saver account just appeared alongside the existing account. I think the reason why the Regular Saver isn't on the list is because it's still really only branch and post - you can't actually initiate any transactions for a Regular Saver account through the web-site, but you can see any debits and credits together with the current balance.

    Apologies if I misled you.

I applied "online" for the Leeds Regular saver. When the account was open I found I also had online access to view another Leeds account in my name and two further accounts on which I'm named as attorney.

Perhaps if you apply for one of their online accounts and deposit the minimum amount, you'll get access to all your accounts.

"Online" seems to mean you fill in a form online, then print it out and post it to them ;-)
