MP3 player

My wife would like an IPod or MP3 player for Christmas? Any ideas about which one to get?
Thanks in advance.

I don't have any specific recommendations, but things to consider would be:

    • How many songs/minutes/gigabytes will you want the device to store?
    • What file formats do you want supported (MP3, FLAC, WMA, OGG, MP4, etc...?)
    • How much are you willing to spend?
    • Do you want the device to be mounted like a hard drive, so you can copy music using a file manager, or are you happy to use proprietary software?
    • What operating systems need to be able to support the device (Windows, Mac, Linux, etc.)?
    • Do you need a screen to more easily navigate between tracks and folders?
    • Do you have any preference of battery type -- built-in? user-replaceable? standard disposable?

Thinking about the above might help narrow-down the choice.

Price is main question. I do recommend the Ruizu X02 at the cheapest end of the scale
